Built Your Own PC: A Step By Step Guide

Almost done! Just have to put in the video card and PCI devices now. The Voodoo 3 3000 snaps into the AGP slot. Just push it in and screw it down. The only other card in this computer is a Sound Blaster Live! Value. Screw down the sound card then hook up the CD cable from the sound card to the DVD player. If you don't want to use the DVD player to play music CDs, you can toss the CD cable in the trash.

If you're wondering why there is no modem or network card in this comp, it's because of the system will be used for @home cable internet. The @home plan includes a free network card (a cheap one I might add) so there was no need for me to install one.

Once every thing is install, double check all the connections one last time. Don't close up the case yet. You may need to get at the components for one reason or another. Now hook up the monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. It's time to fire this baby up for the first time.
