Building The Ultimate Gaming Computer

Introduction:

What kind of system would you build if money was no object? That was the task assigned to me; put together a list of what I consider to be the best of the best in computer hardware. While there was no budget set out for this system, the equipment I chose has to be available for sale. In other words, this is a system you can build yourself if you have the money.

I can guarantee that no one will agree with every specification that I've put on this list for the 'Ultimate Gaming Computer'... some of you might hate all of them, some of you might only disagree with a few, and that's fine.  This exercise was really more about exploring the various options out there since building a machine such as this one would be an extreme expense, and really overkill.  However, the options discussed here do give insight into what is cutting edge technology, and the kind of things to think about when building a more realistic PC.

One thing I also did with this guide was look for components that could be found easily online (specifically through TTZ DealTime).  Sure there are a lot of brand new products that have just been announced or released that might eclipse some of the components listed here, but if they're not readily available they don't really count since I tried to make this something that's attainable, at least for those with tens of thousands to spend.

So strap yourself in, you're about to be exposed to a whole lot of stuff you can't afford, might not understand, but definitely would want to game with.
