Written: 12/5/2000
Written By: Moto®

Christmas is just around the corner and you still haven't started your gift shopping yet? Well, then you're in luck because we're here to help. For those who read our last Techie's Christmas Gift List and though the items shown were too expensive, then you should like this list more because everything here cost less than $100. So if you're not pulling down the big bucks taking pictures of booth babes (or something like that) then take a look at these great under $100 Christmas gifts for the techies on your Xmas list.

The Ratpadz
Price: $18.95 (Low price here)

coolIf the techie on your list is a gamer, then this is the perfect gift. If you want to have a mousing surface built specifically for gamers, then it doesn't get much better  than the Ratpadz. Created by that crazy overclockers over at HardOCP, the Ratpadz is built by gamers for gamers.  This mousing surface is the least expensive way to improve your Quake game. Trust me, you won't go wrong with this in the Christmas stocking.

MS IntelliMouse Explorer
Price: $75.95 (Low price here)

Nothing says Merry Christmas like a mouse with no ball! The red glow coming from under the MS IntelliMouse Explorer just screams Christmas! The IntelliMouse Explorer comes with six programmable buttons and a really nice feeling wheel. The only bad thing about it is  your Techie has to be right handed because MS doesn't make a left handed version.  When combined with the Ratpadz, this becomes the ultimate under $100 Christmas gift combo for all the gamers on your list.

AMD 700Mhz Duron
Price: $89.95 (Low price here)

For the budget conscious, the 700 MHz Duron from AMD asserts itself as a CPU to be reckoned with. Economically, you can't go wrong, and in terms of performance, this bad boy screams! The chip is also highly overclockable, with most being able to run stable at 900Mhz and few making it all the way to the magic 1 Ghz level. 1000Mhz for less than $100? Amazing.
