OK, you've all heard the rumors of Celeron 366s being able to run at 550Mhz but you want to know if it's true. To find out the I picked up 3 Celeron 366s and try to overclock them to hell and back.

I got these CPUs using 2 different methods. The first is I pick one up randomly from PC Planet without pre-testing or screening. This is how most people buy their CPUs and should give you an idea of what you can expect if you pick one up blind.

The other 2 Celerons were hand pick pre-tested units. These were supplied by a source who wishes not be named at this time because he doesn't need the business (believe it or not).

These 2 Celerons can already run at 550Mhz at 2V with just a standard heatsink. The purpose of getting them was to see how far prime example chips can be overclocked. I know after this article, I'm going to be blasted with email asking who supplied these 2 Celerons to me. Please don't ask. I'm not going to tell unless that company request I do.

All 3 Celeron 366s carry the S-Spec SL36C. These are OEM PPGA units and so far are the only Celeron 366s to be reported  running at 550Mhz.

The Celeron from PC Planet was made in week 18. The 2 prime units were made in week 21. I tested all 3 Celerons with an Abit BX6-2 using a SlotKET and on an Abit BP6 which     don't need a SlotKET since it's a socket 370 motherboard.

The Abit BX-2 resided in the Project 620 case with its mondo fans to keep everything cool. The Abit BP6 was installed into the new AMK LAN0334 case, which I'm just crazy about. The LAN0334 run just as cool as the Project 620 case!
