Vancouver, BC Canada: Unlike the Comdex in Las Vegas, the Vancouver Comdex is much more regional in scope. Instead of showing off new products, most of the displays are the stuff already shown at the Vegas Comdex. In terms of size, there's no competition. The Vancouver Comdex had just over 100 exhibitors. Vegas had over 2,000. I think Microsoft's display at Comdex Vegas would have taken up the whole convention space at Comdex Vancouver.

This is not to say that Comdex West was a bad show. it just wasn't the same experience as the Vegas show. Then again, that's to be expected. Mixed in with big boys like Microsoft were small local companies trying to get our attention.

Here are some of the highlights from the show. We were kinda upset that not one exhibitor set up a Quake station. Oh well. Just have to look forward to going to Vegas again.

Image006.jpg (55294 bytes) SavingUmoney.com had a nice Hummer on displayed. How a Hummer can save you money is beyond me however. But the car is cool at any rate.
Image007.jpg (53525 bytes) Sharp Audio/Video had a cool video conferencing system setup. The TV on the right is us talking to the TV on the left, which is in  Burnaby. She pointed her camera to the outside street to prove to us she was really where she is.

Image018.jpg (57711 bytes) Our friends from Microshere were at it at again with their cool workstations. They didn't bring their Obitron however. Too bad. I would have like to ride that thing. We will be doing a full review of this workstation real soon.
Image020.jpg (57460 bytes) Lindsey, Mudzy and I took time out to take a pic with Steve Dotto of Dotto On Data, A popular local computer show. Steve is a great guy and with an equally great TV show.
Image023.jpg (57042 bytes) What would Comdex be without babes? Leave it to Moto to find them. This is Kristy from Radiant Internet, a local ISP. I guess that makes her a radiant babe. :)
