Once a year, the really big players of the electronic game industry
come to Los Angles Convention Center to show off their wares in what is known as E3 or
Electronic Entertainment Expo.
This E3 was one of the biggest ever, with over 550,000 square feet
of display space and more than 2,400 game titles on display. Besides games, hardware
companies like nVidia and 3dfx were also present to show off their new video cards.
With digital camera in hand, we set out on the show floor to bring
you all the highlights.

Looking for a game of baseball? The Real Feel Baseball system is for you. Works with
your current baseball games. The system comes with a wired bat and all the software you
need to hit them out of the park. Real Feel also makes a golf and pool system. Flat screen
monitor not included. |

Hercules is back and they were showing off their 3D Prophet II GTS. Based on the
GeForce 2 GTS chip, the Prophet is one of the fastest video cards you can buy. I ran a
Quake 3 timedemo on it and got 67.7 fps! Settings were 1600x1200x16 bit color, 32 bit
texture, max texture quality on an Athlon 700. |

Sony had the biggest display at E3, taking up nearly 1/4 of the entire convention
space in the main hall. They also put out one huge party on Friday night. The PlayStation
2 may be impressive to people who play console games but when I played it my
feelings were "Man! Turn up the res or turn on FSAA! This sucks!" |

Saga was showing off their Dreamcast running Quake 3. The game was impossible to play
with the controller. Lucky you can hook up a keyboard and mouse to it. As for Quake
3 on Dreamcast, all I can say is "Man! Turn up the res or turn on FSAA! This
sucks!" |
