It seems that about every other day I hit a website that
has a new article up on rounding your cables. Those people must have a lot more
spare time than I do. Plus I just don't feel like slicing my fingers with a
razor blade. Another thing that I see is people talking about doing all these
blowholes in their case yet they don't have the basics covered yet. I was
thinking that there has to be an easier way. That is when I thought about just
folding the cable and using zip ties to keep it together. I will also cover the
basics of case cooling. Let's look at the case, tools, and materials that we
will use first.

The above is a Karri Mini Tower case I picked up a few
years ago to use for my file server at home. For a mini tower it has plenty of
room for my Abit BX6 Rev. 2 (big mofo) motherboard. Currently it has a Celeron
300A that is sacrilegiously running at 300mhz. One of the hopeful outcomes of
this project will be a stable 450mhz yet again. For tools I have a pocketknife,
Phillips screwdriver, and 7-inch diagonal cutters. The only materials we need
are zip ties and duct tape. I'm going to start with the cables first.
