I really like the Global Win I-Storm hard drive cooler. The only problem was my hard drive is located at the top of my In Win Q500 case and I didn't want to move it to a 5.25 drive bay. Also,  (this is just personal taste here) I think the I-Storm looks ugly sticking outside the drive bay.

Never one to turn away from a project, I decided to leave the hard drive at the top of the case and create the ultimate hard drive cooling system, using the Global Win I-Storm and The Ultimate Hard Drive Cooler. Hence the nick name Project Ultimate I-Storm

In the end, this is probably total hard drive cooling overkill, but that's the way I like it! The system looks damn impressive too. The hard drive doesn't even get warm to the touch now. If you have a ultra expensive 10,000 RPM SCSI drive, you might want to consider this project. If you don't, then you might do it just for the WOW! factor. :)

Before we begin, I would like to thank Mudzy® for doing the cutting on the top of my case cover. The final fit and finish of the system was great!
