The first part of this project is pretty
simple. Installing the Ultimate Hard Drive Cooler is a 5 minute operation. Like
I stated in the first page, my hard drive is mounted at the top of the In Win
Q500 case. The floppy drive is also mounted there, to the front. To make this
install really overkill, I put heatsink compound between the heatsink and the
hard drive.

Installing the Global Win I-Storm was the
hardest part of the project. Mudzy® had to use a plasma cutter to cut the back
opening. If you don't have access to such a cutting tool, you can use a Dermal
or jig saw with a metal cutting blade.
Before Mudzy® started cutting, he put 2 small
rivets between the stamped sheet metal of the top cover. You can see them in the
above photo next to the I-Storm. This prevented the unit from flying apart
during the cutting process. After cutting, we test fit the unit and use a metal
file to get rid of excess metal that was preventing the I-Storm from sliding in.
Once the fit was perfect, the I-Storm was glue in place with some hot glue.

Here is the finished setup. Looks like some
space docking station. The I-Storm looks a lot better at the back of the case
than it does sticking out a 5.25" drive bay. Those metal slots that runs along
the side of the top cover are not sealed off. They act as exhaust ports to take
out the air from the I-Storm.
Overall, I'm very happy with the results. The
system gives my computer a unique look and the I-Storm is so quiet it doesn't
add any noise to the computer. Not that I can hear it anyway with all the other
fans in it. :-)
