TNT2 Ultra Overclocking Project

Mvc-188f.jpg (65512 bytes)

One problem I had to overcome with this project is that the TNT 2 chipset sits lower than the memory chips. This required that I put a spacer in between the TNT chip and the heatsink. I begin by putting some double sided thermal tape on the TNT2 chipset itself. My buddy Kyle over at HardOCP likes to call them frag tape®. It works really good and sticks very well.

Peel off the thermal tape, apply it to the chip then peel off the second side and the above is what you end up with.

The spacer used to bridge the gap between the chip and heatsink came from the remains of an AMK overclockers case. AMK cases comes with those nice blow holes. When AMK cut those blow holes, they leave nice pieces of metal which I cut up to make this spacer.
