TNT2 Ultra Overclocking Project

Mvc-195f.jpg (64265 bytes)

The backside of the Asus 3800 is nice and smooth. There are no caps or anything to get in the way of you putting a heatsink on  the backside of the TNT2 chip. Before I did that I cleaned the back with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt that might be there.

After the nice cleaning, I put on a Global Win FA420 on the back. The FA420 comes with double sided thermo tape, making installation pretty simple. Normally the FA420 is used as a complete video card cooling solution and it does a good job. However, it's no match for the cooler on the other side. :)

Here is how the finished card looks. You will lose 2 PCI slots and create what may very well be the most powerful non peltier video card cooling system available for the Asus 3800. Now you just need to overclock it.
