Windows XP
Sneak Peek
Keeping with the "less is more" theme, by default
WindowsXP reverts to this simplified Start Bar. This can of course
be changed to the classic setting.
On the previous page, I showed you the familiar Control Panel
layout, but this is the stock Control Panel you will see by
default in WindowsXP, with everything divided up into specific
areas, rather than specific Control Panel apps.
One enhanced feature in XP, is the enhanced default Image Viewing
capability, whereby images in a directory are automatically thumb nailed, along with a larger preview area, and a few simple
image tools.
Another feature added to Explorer, is a View by thumbnails
selection for viewing directories. In this mode, any folders with
images in them will become large, and have thumbnails of the first
4 images in the folder, displayed on the folder's icon.
