Project 620: Introduction

Welcome to The Tech Zone's newest project, where I take
a run of the mill Pentium III-500 and turn it into a screaming 620Mhz ultimate gaming
system. OK, so a Pentium III-500 is not an average run of the mill CPU. It still cost
allot less than a Pentium III-550. :-)
Like all Tech Zone computer projects, this system is
fast! Real fast! You expect that with a 620Mhz computer that has a Viper V770 Ultra
running at 185/243. No production class computer can match it in games at this time. Dell?
Micron? Gateway? Bring them on!
Project 620 is a system that anyone can build. It
doesn't involve peltiers, liquid cooling or any other exotic super cooling stuff. If
you're good with a screwdriver, you can build Project 620.
Project 620 is a continuation of Tech Zone projects. It
all began with Project 504 about 6 months ago and the number have continued to climb
steadily since. Project 620 is by no means the end. Hell, I'm just getting started!
Before we can begin I always have to give the standard
disclaimer. Project 620 deals with overclocking. Overclocking is running your CPU beyond
its intended speed set by the manufacturer. If you blow up your computer while trying to
do this, don't blame me! I also can't guarantee that your CPU will run as fast as mine.
With that out of the way, we can begin. Feel free to email me your comments or questions.
