The Making Of A Sound Off Show Car

Most sound off
competitors would be stranded if their tires ever blew out. You
would never see Tim stranded since he have a spare 17" rim.
Against the back wall of the bed is the grill for the Aperiodic
Membrane used to damp the sub woofers. On either side of the bed,
in front of the wheel wells, in the "dead area" is a SVR
Battery (SVR70-12). Accessible, yet out of the way. Matching
carpet was used to make a throw rug to cover and protect the
system from prying eyes, while maintaining protection to the glass
covering the amp rack from being scratched.

Chrome jack and tire
iron, talk about details, these aren't even visible, they are in a
storage rack cut in the floor, beside the amp rack. TIP !!!,
grease the jack after chroming it, it sucks trying to wind it up
on the side of the freeway in New Mexico on the way back from
IASCA Finals at 2 in the morning when it won't turn right !

These fuses are
mounted up above the batteries and protected by clear Plexiglas.
The fuses are attached to a bar mounted directly to the positive
terminal. The red hose vents this sealed compartment to the
exterior, using something called the Venturi Effect to eliminate
noxious gasses from building up in the bed.

This is what you see
when the protective cover is removed to display the amp rack. As
you can see, the red, chrome, and graphite theme is consistent
through out.

Not many people would
show you behind the scenes in their vehicle, well this truck has
nothing to hide. Here is the underside of the amp rack. Everything
is on Barrier strips for easy servicing.
