The New
Tech Zone Office

This is my desk where I write my reviews, surf the
net and frag everyone at Quake 3. My office computer is a P3-600
running at 900Mhz, 128 Meg SDRAM, two 40Gig hard drives in a RAID 0
setup and a 64 Meg 3D Prophet II video card.

This is the heart of The Tech Zone's LAN system. An
unfiltered 10MB cable line goes into a Terayon cable modem. From the
modem, the signal is sent to a Netgear router which is connected
to the 24 port D-Link 10/100 switch. Any computer connected to the
switch can share files and surf the web.
Since The Tech Zone is the only cable internet
customer in the area, the net is always super fast. During last
Saturday's LAN party, we had a full time Quake 3 servers running,
one computer downloading a video, one member updating the website
and 3 other computers surfing the web. All done without any any
slowdown to the net connection.
