So! What'cha got in there?
I figured since I was spending quite a bit of money on the internal components,
it would be nice to see where a lot of my hard-earned cash went. Hence, the
plexiglass window. The Unreal logo came as a result of days pondering what to do
with that piece of sheetmetal I cut out for the window. How about a logo? What's
a cool logo? What's a cool game? How about the Unreal Tournament "u"? YES! that
would be cool! Guys, if you don't have much experience with an electric jigsaw,
don't try this at home. I strategically drilled half-inch holes so I could use
the jigsaw to cut in sweeps and gentle curves. There's no way you'll do a
150-degree turn with a 1/4-inch wide blade in 1/8" sheetmetal. This too, was a
challenge to hold down while cutting.

Metallic Blue...
I decided on metallic blue for a very good reason. It was one of only 4 colors
Home depot had in their Hardhat line (read: tough paint). I lightly sanded the
panels and spray painted, and spray painted, and spray painted. There are 8
coats of metallic blue on these panels. I used 1 whole can for these 3 pieces
(less coats on the plastic bezel though). The painting process took place over a
period of 2 days, but I was very happy with the results. I also painted the mobo
tray and the interior of the chassis with bright silver. This is because I would
be putting blue lights in it, and I wanted them to reflect off as many surfaces
as possible. It shines a nice Unreal-type "U" on my wall at night. Wow, an $1800
nightlight.
