Behold... the Orb.
That Orb cooler was so cool-looking, I had to have it. I had it in my hands
before sellers out there devised mods to mount it on an Athlon, and I couldn't
get just the mounting hardware, as I was told that the Orbs themselves had to be
machined with screw threads other than the existing ones. Off to Home Depot.
After drilling and tapping my own screw holes, I bolted the Orb to my Athlon. I
was only able to get this puppy up to 667 with the peltier. It's a week 47 with
a 650 core and 4 ns cache (I think). After the Orb was bolted on (you can see it
in the pic below), I clocked it to 700 with the Maximizer from Roadrebel, and
dialed the FSB up to 107. 750 MHz baby! The peltier is in a box somewhere...

More cutting...
I originally wanted to wire the 2nd power supply so that it would turn on with
the first, but gave up on that. Now I just get questions like "what's the other
power cord for?" The second power supply also has a lesser load now since the
peltier is gone, the Hard drive is now being powered by the Enlight PS. Less
stress, more stability.

And that's how this all came together. My system consists of: Athlon 500
overclocked to 750 MHz w/ Maximizer & Orb, Asus K7M motherboard, 384 MB of RAM
(still going for that RAM drive), IBM 13.6 Gb ATA66 7200rpm HD, Asus V3800U
Deluxe (w/ all the goodies), Diamond MX300 audio card, Pioneer 10X DVD, Mitsumi
4/4/24 CDRW, Asus 40X UDMA CDROM, Mitsumi Floppy drive, Addtronics 10/100 fast
Ethernet card, 120mm Sunon case fan, 2 - 80mm exhaust fans, slotfan under the
Asus video card, 5 1/4" bay cooler, 4 blue lights, a partridge in a pear tree.
