I also built the desk...
Instead of the traditional computer speaker setup, I just decided to use my Aiwa
bookshelf stereo. It's a real 200W system w/ surround sound, not one of those
teeny satellite sets that claim to put out 800W. I always laugh when I see those
ads...

Performance:
I have run Final Reality on this system for 2 days without a crash. I have
set-up a 999-frag limit on a multiplayer game of Q3 with two bots at the
NIGHTMARE! level going at it for 8 hours straight (Xaero kicked Sarge's ass). I
have run the Unreal Flyby sequence for more than a day (I had to play after
that). Unreal & Quake3 both run at 800x600 in 32-bit color. Average framerate
for Unreal Flyby sequence is 57 FPS (with the highest peak I saw at 122 FPS).
In-game framerates are anywhere from 40 - 90+. Average framerate for Q3 3
timedemo1 is 52 FPS with in-game framerates anywhere from 35 - 90+ (with 100+
FPS peaks. By the walls of course). When I get the chance, I will update with
screenshots of SiSoft Sandra & final reality as well.

UPDATES:
I've received a number of e-mails regarding the black snake-like covers I used
for my wires & cables. This is called "split-loom". You can find it at almost
any automotive shop, and they come in different diameters. I used 3/8" for my
IDEs after I rounded them, as well as for the power connectors & fan headers.
For the 2 main power bundles, I used 7/8" diameter loom. Your results will look
better than this since I assume most of you will have just 1 power supply and
your wires will come from the top, while I have them coming from the bottom of
the case as well.
