World's First USB Coaster

We all know that USB is very versatile
and can be used for anything from transferring data to powering a laptop light.
However, this is the first time we've seen USB used for keeping your drink cold.
The CoolIT USB Beverage Chiller is, as far as we know, the world's first USB
powered drink cooler. CoolIT Systems, the makers of the Chiller, claims this is
the next must-have computer accessory. With the USB Beverage Chiller at your
side, you can keep your beverage chilled and stay at your computer longer.
The Chiller looks like a very big iPod with a blue wheel. The wheel is the
cold plate and when plugged in, will chill down to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the
perfect temperature for keeping your beverage chilled. Available direct from
CoolIT System for $39.99 plus $9.50 shipping and handling within the Continental
US.
Does It Really Work?

In order to properly test the CoolIT USB Beverage Chiller, We needed a very
accurate thermometer. This is where the $150.00 InNova Infrared Thermometer came
in. The laser powered thermometer allowed us to take surface temperature
measurements with a simple push of a button.
After plugging in the CoolIT USB Beverage Chiller and letting it chilled
down, we took a temp reading. The cold plate measured 8.9C. Pretty cold instead.
The question is, will it keep your drink at that temp?
