Talk About It

The Chenming AE-601 ATX Case is a true power-user computer case. I can say that with confidence now, this early in the review, cause I've seen this case before under a different name. I guess by now you've figured it out, this case looks exactly like the Antec SX1030/1040 SOHO cases. The reason for this is that Chenming actually manufacturers these cases for such companies as Antec and Chieftec. Similarities to ANY other cases aside though, this case is something to admire. Provided to us by our good friends at CoolerGuys, you know this case just bleeds power-user, especially when you look at the specs.

  • Easy Off sliding lock handle
  • 2 medium speed fans in rear
  • 8.1"W x 20.6"H x 18.6"D (205mm W x 522mm H x 473mm D)
  • Fits ATX motherboards up to 12"W x 13"L (305mm W x 330mm L)
  • Four 5.25" drives exposes
  • Two 3.5" drives exposes
  • Four x 3.5" internal HDD bays hidden
  • Completely rounded edges for safety
  • ATX style case

The only thing missing here is the power supply. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, as many of us prefer to use an after-market power supply such as Enermax. At least they include two extra fans, and at $69.95 from CoolerGuys, this case is a pretty good deal. Now let's get on with the review, starting with a little visual inspection.
