Talk About It

I remember my first Logitech trackball mouse. Like most trackball mice back then, it used a trackball that you move around with your thumb. I never got used to it, but my friend sure did. Using that trackball made him the master of Quake3. He was able to make lighting fast 180 turns with a flick of his thumb. This was something I was never able to master, so I stuck with my optical mouse and settled for semi-fast 180's.

With the new Cordless Optical TrackMan, Logitech has completely redesigned the look and feel of what a trackball mouse should be like. The biggest change is that you no longer use your thumb to move the track ball. Instead the trackball has moved to the other side of the mouse and is operated by your fingers. The Cordless Optical TrackMan is almost like the anti-mouse. Everything about it is backwards. You operate the ball with your fingers and hit the mouse button with your thumb. People who have grown use to using a thumb operated trackball mouse will have to relearn the movements.

The TrackMan is one of the most feature-rich mice in the Logitech line-up. For one thing the TrackMan is cordless so there are no wires to get tangled up. On top of that, movement of the trackball is done with patented optical technology to deliver smooth tracking and superior precision. The mouse has the normal right and left mouse buttons, but there is also a scroll wheel and forward and backward buttons for surfing the net.
