Today people have become more educated and have come to realize that the last 5 racing games they bought didn’t suck, its just that using the keyboard or a joystick just doesn’t cut it in the realism department. Most people have upgraded themselves to racing wheels and some have even splurged and picked up a force feedback wheel for an extra $50.
For those of you familiar with the company ACT Labs, you’ve probably read all the raving reviews on their original RS Racing Wheel. It had that revolutionary cartridge system that allowed you to use the same wheel on your PC, as well as all the major videogame platforms. Well, the Force RS is virtually the same wheel, but this time with force feedback and a little extra available add-on called the RS Shifter. Chances are that you won’t be able to find this wheel at your local videogame retailer, but it is available direct from the ACT Labs site. Thanks to the folks over at ACT Labs for providing one for us to test.
Racing wheels have become a bit more refined since the days of Daytona, the arcade game that would virtually jerk you (sorry, if that came across as perverted) from side to side. Now let’s take a more in depth look at the Force RS and RS Shifter to see how refined it really is.
