This was almost the Comdex that wasn't. We were all getting ready to head down to Las Vegas for a week of fun, hardware and those famous Comdex parties. Only problem was the airline we booked our tickets with went under two days before our flight! What to do? Road trip!!!

Joining us on our TTZ road trip were the boys from Futurelooks. However before we could leave we had to do some mods to our rental van. You can't drove a car unless you install a www.TheTechZone.com window sticker! We also added an Intel Pentium 4 logo to the windshield. The drive down to Las Vegas was a lot of fun. It took us 22 hours of mostly non stop driving. We did get a little lost in Portland because Futurelooks decided to take a little detour to try to find an inverter to power our notebooks.

We got to Vegas at around 11 in the afternoon on Sunday. The first thing we did was head over to the convention center to pick up Teresa's media pass. Then it was time to check into our hotel rooms. Only problem was we didn't have any! Turns out the bankrupt Canada 3000 (the firm we booked our planes and hotels tickets with) canceled our reservations. Lucky for us the hotel had spare rooms available. We just had to pay for them again!

After checking in we decided to head over to the convention center again. Comdex doesn't open their displays until Monday morning so decided to take a walk inside the convention center to see them sitting up the displays. Comdex said that security would be really beef up this year but I guess that doesn't include Sunday as no one tried to stop us from walking all over the mostly empty convention floor.
