Project 527
Greetings! Welcome to my little hardware page on the net. I hope you
enjoy what you see here. This page was started when I first made my comp run at 504Mhz.
Since then I have been fooling around with it and now it's running 527Mhz. This is what I
did to achieve this kind of speed from a PII-300.
If money is no object *yeah right*, everyone would buy nothing but
the best. The best homes, the best foods, the best cars and of course, the best computers.
However, for most of us, money is a very big object and most people can't see spending
$3,000 for a top of the line PIII-500.
Just because you don't have 3 grand to toss around doesn't mean you
can't make a computer that is faster than the fastest PIII available on the market today.
In fact, you can build the system I put together for just $1500 US! And that includes a
17" monitor!
Before we begin, a little disclaimer: This page deals with
"Overclocking". Overclocking is running your CPU beyond it's intended speed set
by the manufacturer. If you blow up your comp while trying to do this, don't blame me!
Clocking a CPU to this kind of speed can damage or even kill the CPU.
With that out of the way, we can get started. Feel free to Email me your comments or questions.
I will be updating this page as I make changes to the system to try
to get more power out of it so please check back from time to time.
