292-3333 AMK Case Review

The 292-3333 from AMK Services is the one of most innovative cases I've ever seen. You can use it as a tower case or as a desktop case. This case allows you to mount your drives like we're all use to doing or you can mount them at 90 degree so you can use your computer as a desktop. I would not use the desktop option myself but there may be a few people out there who like or need this kind of setup.

All the fans used in the 292-3333 are 3" Sunon units. Two are mounted on the side panel to bring in cool air. One is aimed at the CPU and the other one is aimed at the video card. There is a chimney fan at the top of the case to exhaust hot air. Unlike the Cyclone 5000, the chimney fan in the 292-3333 will not block off the mounting of a CD or DVD ROM. The front intake fan is angled up to move the air where it will do the most good. The 292-3333 uses a 300 watt power supply. You can upgrade to a 450 watt power supply if you're so inclined.

To get into this case, you go in from the front, not the rear. First you pop off the face using a release lever, then you're greeted by the single thumb screw used to remove the side panel. Total tool free entry! There is enough space to install a floppy drive and two hard drive in the lower drive cage. Quick release hard drive mounts are included so you will never need to bring out the screw driver should you need to change hard drives. This is great for tweakers as we're always changing stuff.
