With all the cases out
there with varying sizes, shapes and designs, choosing one to serve your purpose
becomes a challenge. Enter AMK with its 19” AMK-3333H-300, as always the “3’s”
in the name represent the number and size of fans, the “H” for the handle, and
the “300” for the P.S. Wattage.
The appearance of the case
is like most others. It measures 19½” tall 16¼” deep and 7½” wide. The first
thing I noticed about this case was there are only 3-5” bays, this may be
sufficient expansion space for many users who only have a CD-ROM. Throw in a DVD
Player, CD Writer, and you are full. The lack of 5” bays (and I say lack of,
only because I have seen 16” cases with more expansion bays) may not be too big
of a deal to the common user, but like any power user knows you would need a
free bay for a 10,000-rpm SCSI hard drive for the cooling fan hardware. With the
audio control units now available with certain speaker systems, and the
temperature monitoring units becoming common on many over clocked computers. You
really are out of room, a long time ago. For the Floppy Drive Slots on the face
of the case, there is a cover plate if you choose to use only one of the slots,
which does give a cleaner finished look overall. The rounded face looks great
when you have nothing in your case but when you add your CD-ROM, and other items
the whole roundness of the case is lost to the flatness of the drives and they
look sunken in.
