AMK 3333 Case Review

The AMK-3333 makes an ideal LAN box and that is what I used it for. I built a Celeron II system to test it out. The system has most things that a LAN box would have, GeForce2 GTS video card, Abit motherboard, a Celeron 566 CPU, etc.

As you can see from the above photo, the two side blow holes are aimed right at the CPU and video card. It's a very good design. The two side fan and front intake fan brings in the cool air and the top fan takes out the hot air. The top fan is aided by the power supply fan, which is set to blow out.

So how does it perform? Really really good! I use the AMK-3333 case to overclock the Celeron 566 all the way to 875Mhz and the case temp was only 27C after half an hour of Prime 95 and Unreal test loops. This is just 6C above room temp. Turning off the fans shot the case temp up 10C.

The only downside to the AMK-3333 is noise. Four high power fans makes for quite a noisy case. You hear a constant humm coming off the fans. Still it's nothing compared to the noise from a normal AMK case that use 4.75" fans or even the noise off a set of Delta fans

There are lots to like about the new AMK-3333 and very little to dislike. The only thing I wish it had was four 5.25" drive bays. Other than that, I have no complaints about its features. The performance is really good and it's one of the best looking case I've ever came across. I just love that S bend! And those optional thumb screws made it really easy to get inside the case when I need to make some changes (which I do a lot).

AMK cases are highly customizable and the AMK-3333 is no exception. Four fans too much or not enough for you? AMK will built the case with however many fans you want. Case too noisy? AMK can add V Block sound deadening material to reduce the noise. Want a carrying handle? No problem.

Priced at $109.95US from AMK Services, the AMK-3333 is one for the highest performing case you can buy. If you're looking for an overclocker's case that won't break your bank, this is a good as it gets.
