Aopen HX08 Case Review

Friends, this is one tall tower! :) In order to park the Antec SX830 under my desk, I ended up removing my desks drawer (the sacrifices we make...sigh). The AOpen HX08 will not fit under my desk PERIOD. It's just too tall ;) Well, let's take a look inside.

You can see here, that we have A LOT of drive bays. 4 3.5" drive bays reside above the power supply (an AOpen branded Fortron Source 300watt supply).

At the very top of the chassis, is the single 3.5" bay for your floppy drive. Below this, there are 5 5" bays, and 3 more 3.5" bays,  with the 3.5" ones in a removable tray. Two other obvious features of note, are the tower's feet, which can rotate under the chassis, and the removable mainboard tray.

The front bezel of the case is rather spartan, but we're not talking about fashion accessories here, this is a server case. :) There is (not pictured) a ventilation intake inlet at the very bottom of the bezel, provided for the installation of a single 80mm fan in the front (not included).

From the rear, you can make out the ATX knockouts of course, and the twin 80mm exhaust cutouts for optional fans (also not included) which reside above the power supply).

Next page: How does it perform?
