What's green, 24 inches tall, powered by 11 fans, and
louder than a 747 taking off? Well, if you guessed the overclocker's case by
Computers Devine you're right, though for the purposes of this review I will
fondly refer to the unit as the Green Monster. Why the Green Monster? Well, for
starters of course it's green, the speckled paint job even has an oddly scaly
feel to it. The case is also monstrous in size, and makes what could be called a
growling noise when all the fans are powered on. Ok, so we've determined loosely
what the Green Monster is, lets take a closer look.
Measuring in at 24 inches high, 16 inches long, and 7.5
inches wide, to say that the Green Monster is huge would be an understatement.
Unless you're buying into a specialized server tower with racks for hard drives
you'll be hard pressed to find a bigger case than this. The case is of typical
metal construction with a plastic front panel and removable panels on both
sides.
The case sports six 5 1/4 bays, two external 3 1/2 bays,
and 3 internal 3 1/2 hard drive bays. The case also sports a 300W power supply,
4 casters for your rolling pleasure, and numerous internal mounting brackets and
screws. Ok, so the case is big, it's got lots of bays, but what about its
cosmetic attributes? I mean PCs aren't supposed to be about looks, but lets face
it, beige is boring.
