CDI Full Tower Cool Case Review

The CDI Cool Case is a big case that  would really only appeal to overclockers and hardcore system tweakers.  The Cool Case has problems that are quite apparent. A better job with the paint, some real gratings for the fans, and switches to turn on and off fans on the fly would be all welcome improvements and additions.

Why not just buy a bare case and do all the mods yourself? Well, the answer to that question is it's a complete package and if you don't mind noise or cheap grating (which works fine for what it's intended to do mind you), you don't have to touch this case out of the box to get great cooling. And it does cool very well.

For anyone without access to power tools, or the ambition and time to actually do up a case like this for themselves from scratch, this case might be a reasonable answer. However, at $300 it's not cheap. You can buy it for $200 if you just want the case with the fans and don't want that funky paint job. Or if you want that funky paint job but not the fans then you can get it for $200 as well. If this case is too big for your needs, Computers Divine has models based on smaller cases. Check out Computers Divine for all the possible options.

Pros:

  • It's very big
  • It's very green
  • Great cooling potential with 11 fans
  • 300 watt power supply
  • It isn't beige

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Very loud
  • Cheap grating for fans
  • No switches to control fans

Rating: 7.5/10
