Cyclone 5000 Ultra Case Review

The above pics gives you a nice overall view of the Cyclone 5000. The two 92mm fans on the side of the case brings in the cool air. The top 80mm fan at the top of the case take the hot air out. This is a good layout since we all know hot air rises. All three fans are protected by metal grills.

At the front of the case you can see the single 80mm intake fan used to draw cool air from the lower case face. You can also see the Cyclone 5000 makes good use of its limited space. The two drive case holds four 5.25" drive and five 3.5" drives.

The Cyclone 5000 uses a 300 watt power supply which should be more than enough to power all the fans and the rest of your devices. The top fan did create a problem however. If your CD ROM or DVD ROM is more than 7.75" long, it will not mount flush with the top drive bay. As you can see from the above photo, my CD Writer ended up sticking out by 1/4". There is another 80mm fan mounted at the rear of the case, under the power supply, to help exhaust hot air.

One nice feature of the Cyclone 5000 is the removable motherboard tray. This makes for an easy install of the motherboard and CPU. The tray is held to the case by clips and one screw.
