Wind Tunnel Plus Case Review

Many people want to make their own overclocker's case with blow holes and lots of fan but lack the tools to do so. The Wind Tunnel Plus is the only overclocker's case available in kit form. The kit comes with all the fans, fan guards, screws, etc. The only tool needed to put the case together is a screw driver. If you don't have a screw driver, you're not an overclocker to begin with! The holes cut into the side of the case are very well done, and they're filed smooth so you don't cut your fingers.

Unlike other cases, the power button is located on the top. The face of the Wind Tunnel Plus is semi removable. You can detach the face from the case but those wires for the power and status lights see to it that the face don't open too far. The drive cage is nothing special. No sliding rails here. Just the tried and true screw method to mount your CD ROM and 3.5" drives.

The fans are easy enough to put together. Cooler Guys provided nice black screws that mount flush with the fan guards. The front fan is of questionable value since the face of the case has no air hole openings to let cool air inside. Most of the works is done by the two side blow hole fans. Exhausting hot air is the job of the fan on the 300 watt power supply. There is no room or cut outs on the back of the case to add another fan. A chimney fan would have been welcome and wouldn't block off your CD ROM drive since the Wind Tunnel Plus is fairly deep.
