Enlight EN7237 Case Review

LAN 825

I found the EN7237 to be near perfect for a LAN party box. I used it to create Project LAN 825 (look for the article soon). LAN 825 is, as the name implies, an 825Mhz overclocked LAN party machine, consisting of a Slot 1 PIII-550E running at 825Mhz and Creative Geforce 256 DDR running at 150Mhz core and 350Mhz memory. These two components run very hot when overclocked. However, case temp never once exceeded 80F during the hours of Quaking with the system in the EN7273. That's only 8F above room temp!

With the two Sunon fans blowing, the case is louder than most but it's not that bad. Most of the noise came from the two YS Tech fans on the Global Win VOS32 cooler. Still the noise level is well below the systems I've made using 4.75" blow holes.

Overall, I really like this case. I can understand why Ultragooey used it for his Unreal case. Performance is quite good even with just one 3" case fan. For most systems one fan should be fine. Adding the optional exhaust fan to the back would be a good idea for an overclocked system. At $49, it's a great value.

The Goods

  • Sliding Rail Mounts for 5.15" drive bays

  • Removable 3.5" drive cage

  • Great performance

  • Lots of room for a 17" case

  • Good price

The Bads

  • Fans are quite loud

Rating: 9/10
