Remember when The
Tech Zone created
Project
LAN825? One of the modifications we did to that computer was add on a
carrying strap. Since LAN boxes are moved from one LAN party to the next, it
makes sense to make the computer easy to carry. The only problem with the LAN
strap used for LAN825 was the amount of work needed to create it. Let's face it,
drilling holes into a case is not the easiest thing to do. One slip and bye bye
case.
This is where the GearGrip Pro from CaseAce
Products comes it. The GearGrip Pro is billed as the ultimate case harness. And
the best part, it takes no tools or drilling of case to install it. Among its
many features are:
- Heavy duty 2" webbing straps
- Premium soft-grip handle
- Adjustable GearBag to hold
keyboard and mouse
- Adjustable CableGrip for LAN
cables and headphones
- Shoulder strap
The GearGrip Pro comes in two models, the
Full Kit and the Base Kit. The Full Kit comes with harness, shoulder strap,
GearBag and two CableGrips. The Base Kit comes with the harness, GearBag and one
CableGrip. Both kits are available in two sizes.
The unit we got for review was for standard
size cases. There is a GearGrip Pro for large full tower case as well for $2
more. Why you would use a full size tower for a LAN box is beyond me.
