Overclock Warehouse GXT1212 Case Review
I took a little time here, and installed a basic system in the box, based on the following components.
ECS P6VXA Socket370 VIA 133a mainboard
Intel Pentium III 700.
Overclock Warehouse OFRIO heatsink/fan
128MB KingMax PC133 SDRAM
13.6G Maxtor UDMA66 HDD
Windows Millennium OS
Using VIA's Hardware Monitor utility, the mainboard
temperatures stayed consistently at or just above room temperature. I would've
went to the trouble of creating an Excel graph, but I figure taking a look at
two sets of nearly identical numbers would bore you to tears. Keeping the inside
case temperature at ambient temperature is what a case with these types of built
in cooling options is designed to do, and it seems to do it quite well.
Conclusions.
$99 is a little higher than your average Mid-Tower case.
But this one comes with some seriously above average goodies, that I feel
warrant the price. By utilizing a unique case design that allows for 120mm fan
mounting without modifications, actually including fans, and including an
extremely well spec'd 330 watt power supply, this case comes across to me as a
very good value for what it gives you.
Overclock Warehouse
will be selling these babies for $99 till Christmas. It may not fit in your
stocking, but shove it in there anyway! :) Recommended!
Pros:
Well above average case cooling
Twin 88cfm 120mm fans.
Sturdily built chassis. Cut free. :)
Great Value at $99
Cons:
I'm a sucker for drive rails and this case don't
have them.
