Leufken Water Cooling Kit Review

How did it work? Very well, thank you! Here first are my test systems specifications, and then we'll take a look at some interesting numbers.

  • Antec 830SX Workstation Tower case with 4 - 80mm case fans

  • Antec PP403x 400 Watt Power supply

  • Asus CUSL2 Intel i815 mainboard

  • Intel Pentium 3 700mhz FCPGA (cb0 stepping) @ 1.95v core

  • 128meg Mushkin PC150 ESDRAM DIMM

  • Hercules Prophet 3D DDR/DVI Geforce AGP video card

  • Aopen 16x DVD drive

  • Plextor 8x20 SCSI CD-R drive (w/ Adaptec 2930c UltraSCSI PCI controller)

  • Maxtor DiamondMax UDMA66 13.6G IDE HDD

  • Creative Labs Soundblaster Live Value OEM PCI soundcard

  • Realtek 8029AS PCI Ethernet (10baseT) controller

  • Windows Millineum Operating System

I could have probably achieved better results without the Adaptec 2930c card in the system, as it gets "skittish" above a certain level of PCI bus speed, but I didn't bother removing it for the purpose of this article, as I wanted a real world test of a "slap it in and bolt it on" approach. The Asus CUSL2 board does have proper AGP/PCI divider support for 133+ FSB speeds, but even then, the Adaptec board isn't happy beyond a certain point of elevated PCI bus speed. Be that as it may, where did I end up?

WhatCPU indicates a 149FSB speed, although the BIOS indicates 150. The final clock speed ended up at 1050mhz, which indicates that the BIOS is "more" correct that WhatCPU. :) All in all a nice 350mhz/50% overclock, and with complete stability at that bus rate.
