Leufken Water Cooling Kit Review

Water cooling is still an "extreme" form of cooling. Still, watercooling brings a level of cooling to the table that you just cannot approach with heatsinks and fans, no matter how good they are. Water cooling also is the only real method that makes using peltier's effective and practical. Although peltier's can be used with air-cooling systems, the additional heat dumped into your computer case by an air cooled peltier setup can cause problems of it's own. You can see in the aforementioned AsusProbe screenshots, that case temperature didn't budge a lick here. Another often looked over aspect of water cooling is it's portability. Once you have a good setup, you can use it again and again, and take it with you as you upgrade Thereby spreading the extra cost over a longer haul. The most you might need is a water block change, and they are a smallish fraction of the cost of such a kit.

Leufken Technologies has designed a good kit here. Avoiding the "Tupperware" and "slapped together in a garage" feel of some similar offerings, their kit brings some thoughtful design to this new area of performance enhancement, and at a decent price. You can also find all of the individual components, as well as different waterblocks (For Slot1/A), radiators, and pumps at the site, if you want to "roll your own." For those interested in an easy approach to water cooling, The Leufkens Technologies kit is highly recommended.

Pros:

  • Design: Aluminum tank, and inline pump a departure from some earlier, more ameteur designs.

  • Instructions. For the novice, the instructions are well laid out, and easy to understand.

  • Guaranteed not to leak!

  • Better results than any air-cooling solution

Cons:

  • Pricier than aircooling.

Rating: 9.5/10
