"A Heavenly Body with Real Big Punch!"

Results

The results were rather mixed...  By any means, I really didn't expect the Celeron system to give the Pentium 3 a run for the money like it did.  Take a look for yourself:

I'll start out with the Sisoft Sandra 2000 CPU benchmark.  Big surprise!  The Celeron system slightly edges out the Pentium 3:

Again, the Celeron system nudges ahead of the Pentium system.  This time in the multimedia benchmark:

The Memory Benchmark indicates that the Pentium 3 system handles these operations faster:

In 3D Mark 2000 the Pentium 3 system seems to lengthen the gap a little further:

And finally in the CPU Mark 99 benchmark the Pentium 3 system really outshines the Celeron 2 system.   But, the Celeron 2's still has a kick-ass score:

P3 CPU Mark 99

It seems that the Celeron 2 and the Pentium 3 systems are pretty close to each other at 850mhz as far as overall performance is concerned.  There doesn't seem to be as much of a performance gap between the two processors as in the past.  What does that bring us to?
