Epson PhotoPC 750Z Digital Camera Review

The biggest advantage of having a digital camera is, for me, the speed with which you can take a photo and post it on the web. You can imagine how this helps me out. Now I have no need to go though a whole roll of film just to get a few shots.

With the Epson PhotoPC, I can take one pic, transfer it to the computer, use PhotoShop to edit it if I have to and get it ready to go to print or upload to the web in a matter of minutes.

The other big life saver for me is I can delete any photos I don't like, or should I say others don't like. I used the PhotoPC to take over 100 photos of the girls next door. Then I ask them to delete the ones they don't want and leave the ones they want me to use. Most of the pics got deleted because of "bad hair day".

The software included with the Epson PhotoPC is very complete and easy to use. The main software imports the photo from the camera to your PC. There is also an image editing program but I never installed it (nothing beats PhotoShop). There are 2 manuals: A small getting started guide and a big user's guide. The user's guide is not really needed. The getting started guide does a great job explaining all the features of the camera and how to use them.

I decided to have some fun with the PhotoPC by taking some pics and doing some PhotoShop work on it. In the left example, I took the pic of Kim and put her in a much more brighter location than the hallway. I call this photo "Don't Dew Diet Coke". The one with Toi on the right is entitled "Drink Coke or you'll be Gatorade"

If you're in the market for a digital camera, the Epson PhotoPC 750Z should definitely be on your short list. Great photo quality, lots of memory to store lots of pics and very easy to use. The only real down side to this unit is that it uses a serial cable to transfer the pics to your computer. A USB cable would have been much faster. Still the speed of the transfer is more than fast enough for most users. At a street price of around $599, it's in the mid-range for digital cameras. After using this camera for the past day I have to say that the price is well worth it.
