I love doing digital camera review because I like taking pictures. The picture quality of the C-2020 Zoom was very good. In standard 640x480 resolution it easily matched the quality of the Epson Photo PC 750. The above photos were taken in standard resolution and uploaded with no enhancements of any kind.
For some reason, the uploading of the pics added some artifacts in the background. I don't know why this happen. The artifacts appears as banding in the wall of the first pic where Kim is doing her eye lashes. This banding doesn't appear in the original copy on my hard drive.
Where the C-2020 Zoom really stands out is taking high resolution 1600x1200 photos. In this mode it took some of the best photos I've even seen from a digital camera. The above two example should make a believer out of you. They're very big, over 350K each but the quality is amazing. Again, the uploading of the pics created some banding in the background.
One of the unique features of the C-2020 Zoom is its ability to do videos. You can record up to 60 seconds of QuickTime movies using the standard eight meg card. There are two modes to chose from, high res and how res. You will need Apple Quick Time or your media player to view it. The video quality in low resolution is not that great. However it's very acceptable in high res.
There are very few gripes I have with the C-2020 Zoom. The biggest one being the memory card. Eight megs is simply too little. This camera really shine taking high resolution 1600x1200 photo. In that mode you only have enough memory for just 16 shots. I ended up buying a 32 meg memory card just so I wouldn't have to download the pic so often.
Other problems I had were the lens cap which had no attachment to the camera when it's off. Make sure you don't forget where you left it. The C-2020 Zoom only gives you a strap where I would have like a carrying bag like the Epson Photo PC.
Those gripes aside, I really like the C-2020 Zoom. The biggest thing that stands out is the photo quality. It's simply among the best in the business. The ability to take videos is just icing on the cake. Too bad the video of Kim doing the strip tease was too big to upload. :)
