Hard disk storage is one of those things
we can all use more of. Not only is the added space of benefit, but newer
ATA/100 drives can really add a performance boost to your daily PC tasks. Well,
Quantum has released a new line of drives in their Fireball high performance
series, the Fireball Plus AS Series and we decided to take a peek at the
Fireball Plus AS QMP30000as 30Gb HDD.
The hard drive is one of the 4 critical hardware categories inside your system. Each of the 4 (CPU, memory, video, disk subsystem) play key roles in how your PC performs. One dog among the bunch, and performance will suffer as a result. You wouldn’t want to build a 1Ghz PC, and saddle it to an old S3 Virge video card would you? Neither should you saddle a nice shiny new IDE interface, supporting ATA/66 or ATA/100 drives, with an old PIO mode clunker.
Quantum’s new Fireball Plus AS series drives offer several features that differentiate them as new generation drives. Take a quick peek at the specs table.
