Soyo K7VTA Pro Motherboard Review

We're seeing alot of very nice offerings around VIA's KT133a chipset, and the Soyo K7VTA-Pro is no exception here. While lacking only a few niceities, the board overall comes across very well presented. The performance is extremely good, with good solid HDD performance and memory performance. Overclocking features are their, with the exception of VIO voltage tweaks. The lack of a 6th PCI slot, the location of the ATX power connector, and the lack of BIOS multiplier adjustments are our only nitpicks.

It's a good time to be an AMD fan right now, and I feel Soyo's K7VTA-Pro goes a long way towards continuing this phenomenon! :)

PROS

  • Solid Overclocking options
  • Stable performance
  • Excellent memory performance
  • Very good board layout overall

CONS

  • lack of VIO voltage adjustments
  • 5PCI/1ISA. Ditch the ISA already
  • location of the ATX power connector could be better.

Rating: 8.5/10
