Logitech Optical Mouse Review

Through the Immersion control panel, you can select a small array of "feels" that objects can exhibit, and can vary the level of force that these objects apply to the mouse. In my testing, I found the feature to be useful, although at high force settings, it can be down right annoying. It's indicative of such a new technology.
Currently, the types of feeling options are somewhat limited (Rocky Road, Sticky Gum, Sonic Vibe), but you can save a particular feeling and force level as a custom setting, so you'll likely play with this feature for a while, set it on what you like, and leave it alone. It's somewhat difficult to portray in a web review, exactly how the mouse "feels", but Logitech has put together an incredibly cheesy flash presentation explaining more about the "Ifeel" feature here.
How useful or Earth shattering this feature will be is hard to say. I certainly see merit in the approach, and it is an interesting addition in how we can interact with the desktop. I do see potential for this type of technology to be an "enabler" for those who might be visually impaired/challenged. I feel this technology definitely has some promise in that arena. One thing to keep in mind with this model, is that it is USB only. No PS/2 adaptor is included, and the mouse will not function fully on a PS/2 adaptor, due to the Immersion feature. Also, the "Touchsense" feature's use in web browsing requires Internet Explorer 5.x (included on the installation CD).
