Having a CD Burner in your computer these days is getting to be as common as steady rain in Vancouver. They are a convenient way to back up large files and compile music CDs. Before recordable CDs I used Zip disks to store my stuff. I am not a fan of Zip drives anymore as they are not very reliable in my experience (my internal drive lasted about five uses), so a burner appealed to me as a great way to back up all my stuff.

I remember my first CD Burner. It was a 1X unit from HP. I recalled it taking nearly 2 hours to test and burn a CD. It was so slow that most of the time I never bother to do a complete CD test before the burning. I would let the test run for about five minutes and think "Ya, it looks like it'll be OK" then cancel the testing and get right to the burning. I've made more than a few drink coasters that way.

That was then. The new HP 9100i burns CD 8 times faster than that original burner. The HP 9100i offers great performance and value in an easy-to-install internal IDE drive (the i in 9100i stands for internal).  It's a great solution for saving data, photos, music, and more. With a fast 8x Write, 4x ReWrite and 32x Read the 9100i lets you save your files to CD fast! Just some of the highlights of this CD burner includes:

The HP 9100i is one of the most complete recordable CD system I've came across. Everything you need to create your own CD is included, even a CD label maker! Yep! You can make you own CD label with this unit. The software bundle doesn't disappoint either. You get a copy of Adaptec Direct CD, Adaptec Easy CD Creator, HP Disaster Recovery, Filing Central by eFax.com, Broderbund Print Shop Multimedia Organizer Professional and Corel Print Office.
