UE1205RU Made By: Archtek

I must admit, once you get use to 100 Mbps network cards, there is no going back to 10 Mbps cards. If you thought 10/100 NICs were expensive, think again. The SmartLink UE1205RU from Archtek sells for just $19! That's cheaper than a lot of 10 base network interface cards. Here are the specs:

Features

  • 32-bit high performance Fast Ethernet adapter.
  • Compatible with PCI Local Bus specification revision 2.0 and 2.1
  • Bus master for high throughput transmission, low CPU utilization and low processor utilization.
  • Auto-Negotitation for automatic speed selection.
  • Supports Full / Half duplex operation.
  • *Upgradable to WOL (Wake On LAN)

Specification

  • Standards : IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX.
  • Connectors : STP & UTP RJ-45.
  • Driver support : DOS, Novell NetWare, Windows3.1, Windows 95 / 98 / 2000, Windows NT, Unix.
  • LED : PWR, RX, TX, LNK

The SmartLink UE1205RU is an auto sensing 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI formatted card featuring a REALTEK chipset. The unit is REALLY SMALL. The PCB of the card is not even 1 inch tall. This works out quite well for overclocked systems as the card doesn't block off any airflow from nearby fans.

The UE1205RU comes with one 10/100 NIC, an instruction sheet and one floppy disk containing the drivers. pretty bare bones but at this price, who cares?
