Overclock Warehouse Dual CPU Bundle
Above a front side bus of 138Mhz, SPD DIMM timings are
not an option, but setting the CAS setting is simple enough in the CHIPSET
features section of the BIOS. Beyond basic settings however, there aren't any of
the memory tweaks that are more common on single CPU VIA chipset boards, such as
bank interleaving. One nice additional feature of this board is the included
Promise ATA-100 controller.
The VIA Southbridge supports ATA-66 natively, so along
with the included Promise ATA100 controller, you can use up to *8* IDE devices
on this board. For those who are brave enough, there are even indications that
the now venerable Promise RAID hack has been worked out as doable on this
mainboard. Kudos to Jordan over at
2cpu.com for this one. Read
this
thread if you are brave and do not care about warranties.
Another uncommon feature of the MSI 694D are these.....
these are 4 diagnostic LED's that blink through a set of
status indicators during POST. MSI includes a reference sticker, indicating the
meanings of the various LED combinations, that can be placed in the case for a
handy reference. Very handy little diagnostic tool for when things go awry.
