All in all, the MSI board is pretty solid and stable. It does have a few quirks, but for FCPGA dual overclocking, it's currently the best game in town in my opinion. Cooling processors that are overclocked 301mhz isnt a job for OEM heatsinks. It's more a job for something like THIS.

The venerable Alpha PAL 6035's are included in this bundle, along with some High Output 60mm Delta Fans, rated at 6800 RPM and 37CFM or air movement. Don't even begin to think that the wimpy mainboard 3-pin headers of this or probably ANY mainboard are going to be able to supply enough juice to these fans. Connecting these to the power supply directly is the method of choice here. At idle I see temps in the 24-25c range on the CPU's, with temps pegging near 40c during intense use, which is an acceptable temperature range for 1Ghz Intel processors.

I don't think I need to beat a dead horse here, so I'll keep it brief on the Intel PIII-700's. These are of course, CB0 stepping chips, and are pretested by Gen-X-Tech to run stable at 1001mhz, when bundled with their shipped cooling solutions noted above. Again, at least among Intel processors, the PIII-700's represent in my view, the "sweet spot" when it comes to value for your money. Most of these stepping 700's can make 933Mhz at least. In our case, they've made it slightly beyond that lofty number. ;)  

What kind of performance numbers did I achieve with this setup? And what was my testbed? Once again, I relied on my new favorite Antec SX830 Workstation case, as it's roomy enough for this slightly larger-than-average ATX mainboard, and has excellent cooling. I recycled the test components from my last overclocked system article, with the only difference being the operating system of choice. This time around it's Windows 2000 Professional, as we need to test the dual rig in an OS environment that supports dual CPU's (note: none of the Win9x OS's support SMP systems). So here's the goods...
