Overclock Warehouse System Bundle
Overclock Warehouse System Bundle

Whew! Overall the numbers are VERY satisfying. And, compared to buying a P3 933 chip, Asus CUSL2 board, and some exceedingly rare and pricey PC150 memory, you can come out quite a good bit ahead of the game in the cash flow department! Casually checking pricewatch $150-$200 cheaper than going the "legit" route.

The ease at which the overclock is accomplished is the primary focus of this article, indeed it's the whole point of buying such a bundle. I would have to say that this combination of components is spot on what you need if you are looking at simplicity and ease as a deciding factor. Going from the stock 700 to 933 initially was painfully simple. I just followed Overclockwarehouse's testing guarantee (stating stability at 1.8-1.85v core), set the proper core frequency, cranked up the BIOS timings and tweaks, selected a FSB speed, saved and booted. No jumpers, no muss, no fuss. When I got things too high and the system failed to POST, the BIOS politely told me I was a bad boy took me back to the advanced settings area, allowing me to lower the clock speed...It doesn't get any simpler than this folks!!!

This has got to be one of the simplest and most satisfying dives into overclocking a system that I have ever taken. It's nice to go straight to a 233mhz overclock within the first 5 minutes of finishing getting the system together. It's just plain satisfying to have all the right components, and having everything go so smoothly. OverclockWarehouse has obviously put together an outstanding component bundle, that I can wholeheartedly recommend!

As a special "gift" to readers of The Tech Zone, and to celebrate the grand-opening of Overclock Warehouse, they are offering a reduced price of  $695 on the tested bundle, with FREE Fedex U.S. shipping. The memory comes with a LIFETIME warranty, the CPU, a 3 year warranty, and the Asus mainboard, a 1 year warranty. If you're interested, check out this link.

Pros:

  • Quality components selected!

  • Excellent warranty!! How many companies warranty overclocked components? Not many!

  • Simplicity. The choice of components, and mainboard feature set, make this setup simple to tweak.

  • Guaranteed performance. You know where you stand, and where you're going to be before you spend your cash.

Cons:

  • A tad pricier than doing the homework and testing yourself. But your results may not be as successful.

Rating: 9/10
