So you love the new Asus Geforce Deluxe video cards, but you don't need all those extra bells and whistles like TV out, video in, DVD decoder, TV tuner, 3D glasses or any other stuff? You just want a lean mean video machine, right? You're in luck. Asus has just the card for you. The Asus V6800 is meant to do just one thing, run your 3D games at mind numbing speed. And it does that really well. It also happens to be the most overclockable Geforce card we've ever came across.

Powered by the nVidia GeForce 256 chipset and 32 megs of DDR RAM, the Asus V6800 is one of the fastest video cards you can buy. Asus makes two version of the V6800, normal (Pure) and Deluxe. Even though this is the normal version, Asus still packs one fantastic software bundle. You get full versions of Drakan and Rollcage plus 12 other game demos.  In addition to the games, there is also an AsusDVD software player and a copy of Ulead Video Studio. It's the same software package you get with the V6800 Deluxe. You're just missing all the extra video in/outs and toys like 3D glasses the Deluxe comes with.

The GeForce 256 chip itself runs at 120Mhz and is cooled by a small heatsink fan which is held in place by a spring clip. The cooler is easy enough to remove if you want to do some serious overclocking with the card. The DDR RAM runs at 300Mhz.

With a street price of around $275, the Asus V6800 is among the more expensive video cards in the market. The fastest is never cheap of course and right now, GeForce cards are the fastest. It's interesting to note that the Asus V6800 is the same price as an Asus V6600 Deluxe. The choice seems to be super fast with no extras or fast with lots of extras. Of course you can always get the V6800 Deluxe and get both.
