Chaintech Desperado Video Card Review

Well, although I've focused this article more on the overclocking aspects of the Geforce2MX chipset, rather than specifics of the Chaintech offering, there are comments to be made.

For one, I liked the fact that Chaintech included the Turbo setting for the newbie. I realize no one who's a real hardcore hobbyist is going to settle for that, but it's easy enough to do for the novice, and perhaps might get someone new into thinking about going a bit farther. I also liked the active cooling solution, in comparison to the MSI board we tested, and the fact that the cooler is easily removable, should someone wish to stick a higher-end cooling solution on the board.

The Chaintech sample I received did not come with TV-Out, but it is an option available, and should be identical in overall features to the MSI and other S-Video/Composite output Twinview capable boards.

The Chaintech boards are relatively new on the market, and from my searching, they haven't hit the mainstream price search engines as of yet. However, once they do hit widespread availability, I would consider the Chaintech Desperado RIA2 Geforce2MX card, an outstanding example of the breed! Recommended!
